YOUR IMPACT
As the Director of Architecture for our Growth, Marketing & Sales (GM&S) practice, you are more than a technical leader; you are the visionary shaping the future of McKinsey's client-facing technology.
You will set the architectural direction for a complex suite of data-intensive SaaS products, ensuring they are scalable, integrated, and at the forefront of innovation. This is a strategic leadership role with deep technical accountability. You will guide teams of talented architects and engineers, collaborate with product leaders to turn business vision into technical reality, and foster a culture of engineering excellence across the organization.
In this role you will: define the architectural vision; own and drive the end-to-end technical strategy for our B2B product suite; develop and communicate a clear architectural roadmap to integrate disparate products into a seamless, data-driven platform; lead technical execution; guide engineering teams through complex challenges in software design, data engineering, analytics, and cloud infrastructure; champion best practices by leading architecture reviews, authoring key Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and ensuring our solutions are secure, scalable, and resilient; and drive innovation.
You will act as a thought leader, staying ahead of technology trends and identifying opportunities to apply new tools and methodologies (from cloud-native patterns to emerging AI applications) to solve critical business problems. You will elevate our engineering culture, mentoring and coaching technical leads and senior engineers, growing their skills and fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment. You will set the bar for engineering quality, modern development practices (TDD, CI/CD), and operational excellence.
You’ll be aligned primarily with Periscope’s technology team. Periscope® By McKinsey enables better commercial decisions by uncovering actionable insights.
