You will lead NAPA’s end-to-end sourcing function, forge strong supplier partnerships, and spearhead multi-year strategies that optimize value and diversify the company’s global supply base.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Sourcing is responsible for leading the end-to-end global sourcing function within NAPA’s automotive parts distribution business. This role ensures delivery of sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity in alignment with overall procurement and corporate goals. The Director of Sourcing leads a team of sourcing professionals, drives supplier negotiations, manages supplier relationships, and implements global sourcing initiatives that enhance supply chain efficiency and risk management.
Specific functions and responsibilities of the position include:
Leadership & Team Development – Lead with servant leadership principles by developing a high-performing sourcing team responsible for supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management that drive value, cost savings, and operational excellence across the organization. Foster a collaborative and
metrics-driven team culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Sourcing Strategy & Execution -- Drive cost optimization, supplier diversification, and quality improvements through effective negotiation and strategic supplier selection; Deliver annual cost savings through rigorous execution of RFPs/RFQs, structured bidding processes and strategic supplier negotiations; Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure sourcing strategies support overall supply chain and business plans; Develop and manage the annual sourcing budget and cost-out execution plans as well as 3-5 year Direct Import Strategy.
Supplier Relationship Management -- Manage key supplier partnerships (including performance evaluations and improvement incentives) to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing policies; Proactively identify and mitigate supply risk, including working on contingency and alternative sourcing plans; Partner with Merchandising and Procurement teams to support direct import supplier and new product onboarding and product launches.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement – Define/ monitor/ report sourcing KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, contract compliance, and cycle times by leveraging data analytics and sourcing technology to drive decision-making and optimize sourcing processes; Promote innovation in sourcing methods, supplier collaboration and digital sourcing platforms
Financial Accountability -- Manage sourcing budgets and drive initiatives that contribute to cost reduction and profitability targets; Negotiate rebate programs and supplier incentives to maximize financial benefits; Evaluate and manage the impact of cost inflation or market changes on sourcing decisions.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of progressive experience in “product” global sourcing or procurement, including at least 3 years in a leading/ growing sourcing teams. We seek a professional with a proven track record in managing 150+ supplier relationships and a strong understanding of sourcing strategies, category management, supplier risk mitigation, and global supply chains.
Additional qualifications include:
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required with concentration in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field; MBA preferred
TRAVEL
Estimated 20% travel to various suppliers and trade shows includes overseas and domestic
