About the Role

The Director of Total Rewards is a key strategic and operational partner responsible for managing Advocare’s full suite of total rewards programs - including benefits, compensation, and learning/development initiatives. This role ensures that our programs are competitive, compliant, data-driven, and aligned with our mission to support physicians, non-physician providers, and staff.

You’ll work closely with HR, Payroll, Care Centers, and external vendors to deliver high-quality programs, support day-to-day operations, analyze data, and enhance the employee experience through clear communication and thoughtful program design.

This role reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities include:

Benefits Administration & Compliance

  • Manage daily administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit programs.
  • Partner with the VP of HR to evaluate plan performance, utilization, and market data.
  • Serve as primary contact for benefits brokers and insurance vendors.
  • Maintain accurate data in HRIS and coordinate with Payroll and HR Operations.
  • Lead annual Open Enrollment, including materials, communication, and employee education.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other regulations; conduct regular audits.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and verify payroll deductions.
  • Provide benefit education and support to HRBPs, employees, and Care Centers.

Compensation Administration & Analysis

  • Support development and maintenance of Advocare’s home-office compensation strategy.
  • Conduct compensation analyses, evaluate roles, and monitor pay practices.
  • Maintain internal and external compensation data in partnership with HRBPs.
  • Partner with Payroll & Compliance to ensure Provider compensation meets regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with wage and hour regulations.

Learning & Development

  • Support new hire orientation, leadership training, and on-demand learning initiatives.
  • Track training metrics and identify opportunities to enhance content and delivery.

Data, Reporting, & Employee Insights

  • Prepare benefits and compensation analyses for Care Center Health Checks.
  • Administer the exit interview process and analyze trends.
  • Partner with VP of HR on employee engagement survey design and data interpretation.
  • Provide clear reporting and insights to support decision-making and program improvement.

Communication & Program Support

  • Develop user-friendly materials explaining benefits, compensation, and learning programs.
  • Draft employee communications, FAQs, and training guides.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across Care Centers in collaboration with HRBPs.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in benefits and compensation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of benefits, compensation, and HR compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (Paylocity experience a plus).
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Experience with self-funded or Reference-Based Pricing (RBP) plans preferred.
  • Master’s degree or HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, CCP) are a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare or multi-site operations strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-time, exempt role.
  • Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:30 pm (flexibility for occasional on-site needs).
  • Hybrid role: primarily remote, with occasional travel to Care Centers in NJ, PA, DE, and future markets.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000, depending on a variety of factors such as skills, experience, and education. In addition, Advocare offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes multiple medical and prescription coverage options; dental and vision plans; Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs); and a range of voluntary insurance offerings such as critical illness, cancer, accident, hospital indemnity, disability, and life/AD&D coverage. Employees also have access to a 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time off (PTO), commuter benefits, and group auto and homeowners insurance.
