Position Overview: The Director of Tree Care Services Leader is responsible for the strategic growth, operational excellence, financial performance and safety of the company’s nationwide tree care division. This executive-level role leads both Sales and Operations functions, ensuring strong revenue growth, high client satisfaction, safe work practices, and consistent service delivery across all regions.
The Tree Care Services Leader develops scalable service models, drives business development initiatives, strengthens operational execution, and ensures alignment with corporate objectives. This position partners closely with regional leadership, safety, fleet, procurement, and corporate teams to deliver high-performing tree care services nationwide.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the national strategy for Tree Care Services, aligned with company growth objectives.

Drive expansion into new markets and strengthen presence in existing territories.

Establish national performance standards, KPIs, and service benchmarks.

Identify emerging industry trends, risks, and opportunities.
Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

Lead nationwide tree care sales strategy, including prospecting, national accounts, renewals, and upselling.

Partner with regional sales teams to drive pipeline development and bookings growth.

Support major client pursuits and participate in key presentations.

Collaborate with Marketing to position the company as a leader in professional tree care services.

Ensure accurate forecasting, revenue tracking, and achievement of annual sales targets.
Operational Excellence

Oversee all tree care operations nationwide, ensuring consistent service quality and execution.

Standardize operational processes, equipment utilization, crew structure, and production metrics.

Monitor branch performance and implement improvement plans as necessary.

Ensure seamless coordination between sales and operations for project handoff and execution.
Safety & Compliance

Partner closely with the Safety team to ensure compliance with ANSI standards, OSHA regulations, and company safety protocols.

Promote a strong safety culture focused on training, certification, and incident reduction.

Ensure proper licensing, certifications, and regulatory compliance across all regions.
Fleet, Equipment & Procurement Collaboration

Work with Fleet to optimize specialized tree equipment allocation, maintenance, and replacement strategy.

Collaborate with Procurement to standardize equipment, materials, and vendor partnerships.

Drive cost control initiatives while maintaining operational effectiveness.
Financial & P&L Management

Maintain full P&L responsibility for the Tree Care division.

Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.

Improve margin performance through pricing strategy, productivity improvements, and cost management.
Leadership & Talent Development

Build and develop regional tree care leaders and operational managers.

Establish training pathways for arborists, climbers, and crew leaders.

Support recruiting and retention initiatives for specialized tree care talent.

Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
M&A & Integration Support

Evaluate potential acquisition opportunities within the tree care market.

Lead integration of acquired tree care operations into standardized systems and processes.

Ensure cultural alignment and operational consistency post-acquisition.

10–15+ years of leadership experience in tree care services, arboriculture, or related green industry operations.

Demonstrated success leading multi-region or national sales and operations teams.

Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience.

Deep knowledge of arboriculture practices, equipment, and safety standards.

Experience developing scalable operational systems.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

ISA Certified Arborist designation preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in business, forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, or related field preferred.
