Job Title: Director Operations, Purchase, Logistics & IT Coordination (Diagnostics Industry)

Experience: 12–15 Years Department: Operations & Supply Chain Industry: Diagnostics / Pathology / Healthcare Location: Mumbai

1. Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead and oversee Logistics, Home Visits, Collection Centres Operations, Purchase, Projects, and IT Development Coordination for a growing diagnostic organization. The role demands strong leadership, multi-location operations management, vendor handling, cost optimization, and technical coordination skills (LIS/IT modules). The candidate must ensure seamless day-to-day operations across Mumbai, Surat, Nasik, and other regions.

2. Key Responsibilities (Department-Wise)

A. Logistics Department

 Track daily attendance for logistics teams across Mumbai, Surat, and Nasik.

 Plan daily sample pickups and ensure standby arrangements for contingencies.

 Follow up on in-transit samples to ensure timely delivery and reporting.

 Issue and assign B2B material; manage drop logistics efficiently.

 Monitor hard copy report dispatches for all walk-in centres.

 Ensure adherence to planned delivery routes and TAT.

 Prepare and maintain monthly MIS reports for management review.

B. Home Visits Department

 Assign home visit requests to phlebotomists and monitor timely closures.

 Oversee daily payment settlements and reconcile with accounts.

 Review and submit monthly visit charges to management.

 Confirm all technician visits and ensure daily assignment closure.

 Coordinate with HR for new hiring needs, resource planning and replacements.

 Maintain accurate monthly MIS for all home visit operations.

C. Collection Centres Operations

 Monitor daily attendance of all CC staff and maintain discipline.

 Ensure operational continuity through effective backup planning.

 Manage CC inventory, consumable usage, ordering, and replenishment.

 Handle daily cash/payment settlements and coordinate with finance/accounts.

 Work closely with HR for staffing needs, onboarding, and attrition control.

 Collaborate with Sales on CC performance, branding and operational insights.

 Generate monthly MIS reports for centre productivity and performance.

D. Purchase Department (Capex & Non-Capex)

 Review all open indents and ensure timely closure.

 Monitor open Purchase Orders and follow up with vendors for delivery compliance.

 Negotiate competitive rates for medical/non-medical items, consumables, and equipment.

 Verify invoices at secondary level before finance submission.

 Manage all CMC/AMC contracts, renewals, and service-provider SLAs.

 Handle emergency purchases while ensuring quality and cost efficiency.

 Conduct annual vendor performance ratings and documentation.

 Maintain compliance with procurement standards (NABL, internal audit, etc.).

E. Projects / New Setup Department

 Conduct detailed surveys for new collection centres and labs.

 Prepare feasibility reports with cost projections and timelines.

 Draft commercial proposals for new centres, relocations, and expansions.

 Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for infrastructure readiness.

 Ensure availability of equipment, manpower, consumables, and IT systems.

 Handle statutory permissions and support local liaisoning work.

F. IT Development / LIS Coordination (Samadhan Team)

 Create requirement frameworks for new module developments and enhancements.

 Coordinate with IT developers to discuss functional expectations and user journeys.

 Conduct preliminary, functional, and user-level testing of new modules.

 Participate in daily review calls for ongoing IT development or issue resolution.

 Support implementation of LIS/HIS/CRM tools across centres.

 Ensure seamless IT operations—systems, printers, networking, CCTV coordination.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

 Strong operational leadership across multiple departments.

 Deep understanding of diagnostic industry operations, reagents, consumables, and sample logistics.

 Expertise in procurement, negotiation, vendor evaluation, and AMC/CMC management.

 Experience handling multi-location logistics, cold-chain sample movement and TAT-driven operations.

 IT exposure—LIS/HIS modules, workflows, system testing, tech coordination (non-coding).

 Strong MIS reporting, analytical ability, and cost-control orientation.

 Team management skills with cross-functional collaboration.

 Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies effectively.

4. Qualifications

 Graduate in Science/Commerce/Engineering.

 Preferred: MBA in Operations/Supply Chain/Healthcare Management.

 Prior experience in diagnostics, healthcare, pathology or medical devices is must.

5. Experience Required

 12–15 years of experience in operations, logistics, purchase, or multi-department management in diagnostics/healthcare.

 Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-location teams.
