Job Summary:


To support the health and well-being of our clinical workforce (physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, etc.), Wellstar Health System is seeking a Director of Clinician Resiliency & Well-Being to provide operational support for the Clinician Resiliency & Well-Being department. This leader is responsible for operationalizing the strategic priorities of Wellstar's Physician Well-Being and Nursing Well-Being programs. Working under the leadership of the Chief Behavioral Health (Well-Being) Officer, the Director will function as a dyad partner to future clinical Directors of Well-Being, with direct/indirect oversight of several team members.
The Director will be intimately familiar with the framework that guides Wellstar's Clinician Resiliency initiatives as well as the pathway to optimally support the professional fulfillment of Wellstar clinicians. (S)He will maintain accountability for implementing high-impact strategic aims, leading the annual budgeting process, setting fiscal year goals, and tracking key performance indicators reflective of programmatic success. The Director's role is primarily, to operationalize chief aims and mobilize the voice of Wellstar clinicians to deliver tangible impact. Working closely with Wellstar's Physician Well-Being Council and other governance entities, (s)he will assist in the development of a Charter, departmental policies, meeting structures, and other infrastructure to ensure that work is aligned and that objectives are met.
The Director will oversee a departmental budget, assist in the operationalizing of physician (and other clinician-focused) camaraderie events/well-being retreats and oversee various elements of the Wellstar model, which includes developing pathways to support clinicians, mitigating drivers of burnout, and reducing burdens via EMR optimization and team-based care. (S)He will utilize validated measurements to assess clinician well-being and the leadership behaviors that impact it. (S)He will work with critical stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive dashboard that integrates indicators of clinician health and well-being and will develop processes to enhance visibility of data to senior Wellstar leaders. Further, the Director helps to demonstrate the return on investment (ROI) of the program, partnering closely with stakeholders not limited to Human Resources, the Wellstar Medical Group, Wellstar's EVP of Patient Experience, and facility c-suites to evaluate relationships between well-being indices and staff retention rates, clinical productivity, EMR efficiency, Culture of Safety surveys, and other related indicators of well-being.

Required Minimum Education:


Master's Degree
The ideal candidate will possess a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Masters of Health Administration (MHA). All degrees should be awarded from educational institutions accredited by the United States Department of Education.

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Required Minimum Experience:


Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within a healthcare setting Required and
Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experiences Required


Required Minimum Skills:


The following competencies are considered essential to success in this role: strong data and analytical abilities; action-oriented; business insight and financial acumen; clear and effective communication (both verbal and written); sustained focus on the customer (i.e. our physicians, APPs, nurses, etc.); ability to plan and align; ability to collaborate across groups while also driving results; adept at Lean processes that reduce waste; technology savvy; and presentation abilities.
Further, the Director must have the ability to assert an executive presence and possess nomenclature fluency to work effectively in a healthcare environment with clinical and operational stakeholders.
