Director - Projects | JLLPosition OverviewThe Director - Projects leads and manages large-scale commercial real estate projects from inception through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to client specifications. This senior-level position requires strategic oversight of complex projects while managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject LeadershipLead multiple complex projects simultaneously, ranging from $10M+ in value
Develop comprehensive project strategies, timelines, and budgets
Oversee all phases of project delivery from planning through occupancy
Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
Client & Stakeholder ManagementServe as primary client contact for assigned projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, tenants, contractors, and vendors
Facilitate regular project meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders
Manage client expectations and resolve conflicts as they arise
Team ManagementLead project teams including project managers, coordinators, and support staff
Mentor junior team members and support their professional development
Coordinate with internal JLL teams
Manage external consultants, contractors, and design professionals
Financial ManagementDevelop and monitor project budgets and financial forecasts
Review and approve project expenditures and change orders
Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets
Prepare financial reports and variance analyses
Required QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
20+ years of commercial real estate project management experience
5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large-scale projects
Technical SkillsProficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
Strong knowledge of construction processes and building systems
Understanding of commercial real estate markets and trends
Experience with LEED and other sustainability certifications preferred
Core CompetenciesExceptional leadership and team management abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
Client-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or relevant certifications (PMP, CCM, LEED AP)
Experience with various project types (office, retail, industrial, mixed-use)
Knowledge of emerging technologies in construction and project management
Previous experience with JLL or similar real estate services firm
