JOB SUMMARY

The Director of People Brand is part of Change Management & Associate Engagement, working on behalf of Human Resources to connect our culture and career opportunities with associates and candidates worldwide. By applying proven consumer brand marketing strategies and creative solutions, this role helps Marriott attract, engage, and inspire people across the globe.

This leader will keep Marriott’s People Brand aligned with workforce and cultural trends, ensuring it resonates globally and complements our world-class portfolio of consumer brands. With a collaborative mindset, they will develop strategies, digital solutions, and creative campaigns that strengthen candidate attraction and build associate pride.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field required;
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in brand, marketing, communications, or culture strategy.
  • Proven ability to lead global brand strategies that strengthen talent pipelines and internal culture.
  • Track record of building cross-functional partnerships and leading creative campaigns with measurable outcomes.

Preferred

  • MBA with a focus on brand marketing preferred
  • Experience across both consumer and employer brands preferred.


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES


Strategy & Stewardship

  • Define and evolve Marriott’s global People Brand strategy, ensuring consistency across geographies, disciplines, and business units.
  • Balance talent attraction and culture branding, driving external visibility while reinforcing associate pride internally.
  • Anticipate workforce and cultural trends to keep the People Brand forward-looking and competitive.
  • Align brand expression across Marriott Careers and associate engagement channels.

Talent Attraction

  • Serve as a strategic partner to Talent Acquisition, embedding People Brand into recruiting strategies and goals.
  • Drive organic and earned candidate flow through SEO, robust content strategy, and optimized digital channels.
  • Reduce reliance on paid sources by leveraging storytelling, social media, and digital innovation.
  • Align source of hire strategies with quality of hire metrics to ensure brand efforts contribute to strategic talent outcomes.

Culture Branding

  • Translate the People Brand into initiatives that build pride, belonging, and connection for associates.
  • Partner with HR, Communications, and business leaders to integrate People Brand into the associate experience.
  • Ensure messaging reflects the authentic experiences of associates worldwide.

Brand Identity & Partnerships

  • Oversee the creative identity of the People Brand, ensuring it is distinctive while complementary to Marriott’s consumer brands.
  • Partner with our consumer brand teams to align the People Brand with Marriott’s portfolio of world-class hospitality brands.

Lead agency and creative partners to produce campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and pride.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a team
  • Build strong partnerships across Talent Acquisition, HR, Marketing, and Communications.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that delivers measurable business impact.

Measurement & Innovation

  • Define metrics and measure success in candidate attraction, brand engagement, and associate pride.
  • Benchmark against leading employer and consumer brands, adopting innovative, cost-effective approaches.
  • Continuously refine strategies based on insights and performance data.


The salary range for this position is $117,600 to $198,800 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.

Marriott HQ is committed to a hybrid work environment that enables associates to Be connected. Headquarters-based positions are considered hybrid, for candidates within a commuting distance to Bethesda, MD; candidates outside of commuting distance to Bethesda, MD will be considered for Remote positions.
