The target hiring range for this position is $165,645.72-$180,261.51.


Position Summary:

The Procurement Director leads the centralized procurement function, ensuring purchases are strategic, efficient, and support institutional objectives. Reporting to the CFO within Accounting & Finance, this role develops procurement strategy, drives cost savings, and enforces compliance with policies and regulations. Responsibilities include managing the full procurement lifecycle, vendor relationships, sourcing processes, and transparent reporting. The Procurement Director also advises departments to align procurement with operational needs and financial responsibility.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CFO and leaders to align procurement with institutional goals and budgets.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and controls to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance across the organization.
  • Partner with IT to procure hardware, software, and technology services, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, cybersecurity standards, and vendor compliance.
  • Lead sourcing efforts including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and supplier evaluations to identify and secure the best value, quality, and service.
  • Manage the centralized vendor database, ensuring suppliers meet compliance requirements and performance standards.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define procurement needs, refine requirements, and set realistic timelines.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve favorable conditions and manage contract renewals.
  • Monitor vendor performance, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, IT, and other functions to integrate procurement processes with enterprise systems and reporting tools.
  • Ensure readiness for audits through complete and accurate procurement documentation.
  • Support and mentor procurement staff, fostering professional growth and high performance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field; MBA or procurement-related certification (CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
  • 5–8 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience.
  • 3+ years leading procurement or strategic sourcing teams in a dynamic or regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract law, and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes (e.g., sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract management, procure-to-pay).

All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
