About the role

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Procurement to lead Riot’s procurement operations across all business units. This role is critical in developing and executing procurement strategies that support Riot’s rapid growth, drive cost efficiency, and foster strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in large-scale infrastructure or industrial procurement, preferably in energy, data centers, or manufacturing.

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Riot’s operational and financial goals.
• Lead sourcing, negotiation, and contract management for equipment, services, and capital projects.
• Manage change orders and back charges effectively.
• Build and lead a high-performing procurement team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, operations, legal, and finance to forecast needs and manage budgets.
• Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track procurement performance and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, legal requirements, and ESG standards.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through vendor diversification and contingency planning.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of construction procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role preferred.
• Proven success in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Industry experience in energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field; or 10 years of equivalent experience.
• MBA or CPSM certification is a plus.
