Visa is seeking a seasoned Director to join the Payment Processing team in Visa Acceptance Solution team, focusing on product compliance management. This dynamic role is pivotal in driving the development and deployment of innovative payment solutions and ensuring compliance with payment network processing rules and specification. The successful candidate will collaborate with various Visa Acceptance Solutions teams such as application owners, product owners, solution engineering lead, regional sales and client services, to develop, integrate, and manage payment acceptance solutions, staying ahead of evolving trends in the payments space. She/He will also act as a risk champion for the Payment Processing team to ensure the emerging and existing operational risk controls are properly documented, monitored and mitigated. This role sits within the Network Innovation of Payment Processing team in Visa Acceptance Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for Visa Acceptance Solutions Payment Processing, aligning with the overarching goals of the Network Innovation and Processing Compliance.

  • Expertise Management: Maintain in-depth understanding of payment processing of Network/ Acquirer/ processors / Third Party Payment Enabling Agents models to guide acceptance product development. Capable of digesting and interpreting network and processor connection technical documentation to drive consistent front end processing design and data persistency across multiple processing modules in transaction processing. Basic understanding and working knowledge of API development and publication.

  • Compliance Management: Stay abreast of industry changes, trends, payment network rules and compliance requirements, particularly related to transaction processing, fraud prevention, and cybersecurity trends. Analyze financial and brand impacts related to new mandates and ensure compliance requirements are integrated in product lifecycle management. Ensure Visa Acceptance Payment Processing capabilities are kept up to date with card network business enhancement/switch release cycles, continuously unlocking and releasing card network features to deliver value add to Visa clients and cardholders. Act as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, communicating product impacts, compliance requirements, and program objectives effectively.

  • Program and Project Management: Create and manage detailed roadmaps and program management plans for the rollout and enhancement of payment network processing initiatives.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Strategy, Sales, Product Development and Solutioning, to assess current Payment Processing capability gaps with the lasts network requirements and enablement capabilities. Establish close partnership with other Visa Acceptance Solution teams to oversee end to end user experience to drive holistic and efficient service design and build. Guide product development planning with compliance excellence as the core principle.

  • Risk and Compliance Championship: Work closely with Business Risk Partners as a key point of contact on Acceptance Solution Payment Processing. Lead the overall network compliance management and product risk assessment. Provide guidance, support, and fostering collaboration amongst sales, product and engineer teams to achieve Visa Acceptance Solutions compliance objectives.

  • Metrics and Reporting: Lead ongoing risk self-assessment for Payment Processing. Define and monitor Key Risk Indicators for the team, ensuring clear visibility of performance and compliance to leadership and stakeholders.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Passionate about payment processing and commitment to operational excellence
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, payment network rules and processing requirements, fraud prevention methods, intelligence, and analytics
  • Ability to stay abreast of payment industry trends and incorporate them into strategic planning and program development
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic plans, roadmaps, and business cases
  • Ability to foster cross-team collaboration with a variety of counterparts, including design, product, platform, and technical teams and to influence leaders and teams across functional areas
  • Excellent program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI with background in intelligence gathering and leveraging intelligence in analytics
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with aptitude for both written and verbal communications across a variety of audiences


  • 8+ years of experience in product management, preferably in an agile/scrum environment
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the payments systems or merchant service industry
  • Proficiency in end-to-end product delivery, launching complex products that delight customers and drive business success
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation
  • Experience with global program rollouts and management
  • Intellectually curious and analytically rigorous
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate new ideas
  • Solution oriented and looking for ways to provide added value
  • Positive approach and commitment to collaboration with shared purposes

Work Hours:
Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300.00 to 278,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
