Job Overview:

The GEHC Advanced Visualization Solutions (AVS) segment, a fast-growing business in GE HealthCare, includes ultrasound medical devices and solutions as well as image guided therapies. The portfolio spans the continuum of care to enable customers with ultrasound screening, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases. Our customers are seeking to improve efficiency in radiology and beyond and increase user confidence to provide better clinical outcomes continues to grow. Consequently, the need for AI, digital solutions, and automation, connecting devices and software in one seamless ecosystem continues to proliferate.

The Caption Ultrasound AI team focuses on developing AI solutions for scan guidance and interpretation, to aid in early disease detection, improve workflow and productivity across many different ultrasound applications and care areas. The Head of Product Management is a critical role on this team who leverages deep domain expertise and ultrasound product experience to lead a team of product managers and clinical development specialists to deliver the next generation of breakthrough AI features. This leader combines customer needs with technical feasibility to formulate strong product offerings for the business.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leverages deep domain and process expertise to develop the strategic product roadmap for various AI developments
  • Partners with the segment product teams and the AI technical development team to influence key design and planning decisions. Drives the development of products that meet customer needs and provide competitive differentiation.
  • Coordinates work of several parallel teams to deliver on higher level outcomes. Responsible for transparent delivery and maximizing returns. Focuses on execution for the duration of a product release.
  • Serves as a people leader and mentor for a team of experienced product managers and clinical development specialists. Has the ability to attract and retain talent. Influences policy and ensures delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the organization.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
  • Leads others to find creative solutions within complex processes with technical variety and/or interdependent development. Employs sophisticated operational/product management techniques, interacts with adjacent functions to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Exemplify product management best practices and coaches the team to embody them. Engages with cross-functional stakeholders to problem solve as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • At least 7 years of industry experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • 10-12 years’ experience, at least some of it in ultrasound product development and/or AI development for medical devices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • People leadership experience (ability to mentor and grow a team of direct reports)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This position is based in the United States only. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE HealthCare may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Must be willing to travel as required (up to 25% on occasion).
