A Brief Overview
The Purchased Services and Indirect Spend Director is responsible for providing direction and strategy to the departments and managing the service contracts, including GPO commitments, within Stormont Vail Health. This position is responsible for leading the Value Analysis committees, annual savings targets, supplier contracting and purchased service and indirect spend sourcing.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, Statistics or a related degree. Required
  • Master's Degree Business Administration (MBA) Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 5 years Purchasing, distribution, data management experience. Required
  • 2 years Supervision experience. Required
  • 2 years Experience in healthcare Supply Chain Management. Preferred
  • ERP experience (Workday). Preferred


Skills and Abilities

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).


What you will do

  • Assists with conducting assessments to identify issues and opportunities, measure and quantify impact, propose solutions, and present the business case for change.
  • In conjunction with the System Director, develops the internal policies, procedures and strategy to provide for accountability of all purchased service and indirect spend sourcing. Serves as designee for System Director when needed.
  • Monitors and tracks productivity and performance metrics standards souring and savings initiatives and reports results to System Director, continuously seeking improvement opportunities.
  • Assists System Director in preparation of the annual budget and assures adherence on a monthly basis.
  • Creates and maintains supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for purchased services and indirect spend.
  • Submit RFPs to vendors, analyze responses and negotiate pricing and terms as part of Stormont Vail’s procurement process
  • Negotiate contractual terms with suppliers and in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manages the performance improvement and safety activities of the Purchased Services and Indirect Spend department to meet all regulatory agency requirements and customer needs.
