Summary:

The Director of Respiratory Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for all Respiratory Care Services for the Respiratory Therapy Department. This role ensures high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care in alignment with regulatory standards, organizational goals, and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities:

Partners with physician and leadership to enhance clinical outcomes, quality metrics, and patient experience. Leverage data analytics to monitor, trend, and improve clinical, operational, and workforce outcomes across respiratory servicesPartners with Infection Prevention and clinical leadership to develop, implement, and monitor respiratory care practices that reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), including ventilator-associated events (VAE/VAP).Ensures appropriate staffing models, scheduling, and productivity management.Utilizes rounding, real-time feedback, and patient/family insights to identify opportunities and drive service recovery.Directs and oversees daily operations of Respiratory Care Services (RC). Develops departmental goals aligned with organizational strategies.Champions evidence-based practice and standardization of care across the respiratory therapy continuum. Ensures delivery of evidence-based respiratory care across all settings (ICU, ED, NICU, Inpatient, Outpatient). Standardized clinical protocols (e.g., Ventilator Management, Bronchodilator Therapy and Oxygen Therapy). Monitors clinical outcomes and drives quality improvement initiatives.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Bachelors (Required)ACLS American Heart E-Card (ACLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), NRP Certification (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), PALS American Academy of Pediatrics (PALS AAP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist. At least three (3) years of leadership/management experience.Other Information: Additional Information: Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Healthcare Administration or related field requiredNational Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is preferred.
