An integral part of the company IT operating model, Tech centers are globally distributed locations where each IT division has employees to enable our digital transformation journey and drive business outcomes. These locations, in addition to the other sites, are essential to supporting our business and strategy.

A focused group of leaders in each tech center helps to ensure we can manage and improve each location, from investing in growth, success, and well-being of our people, to making sure colleagues from each IT division feel a sense of belonging to managing critical emergencies. And together, we must leverage the strength of our team to collaborate globally to optimize connections and share best practices across the Tech Centers.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of SAP S/4HANA Implementation to oversee the project activities within our technology hub in Hyderabad. This role will be responsible for driving the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA across the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives, managing resources, and delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

Our S4 HANA project is a technical upgrade to our current SAP Platform ECC version for Human Health. This is a single global instance and our strategy is to focus on the technical upgrade to modernize our core ERP, which will enable us to continue to introduce and adopt the latest technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all SAP S/4HANA-related activities within the technology hub.

  • Help manage activities for all resources in the region, both internal and external.

  • Execute the overall SAP S/4HANA implementation strategy in collaboration with business and IT leadership.

  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management to ensure successful delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, IT infrastructure, and external vendors.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices, governance, and compliance standards throughout the implementation lifecycle.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize SAP processes and system performance post-implementation.

  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Provide regular status updates and reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • In close partnership with SAP Platform lead, build a team of SAP functional and technical experts.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in SAP and S4, both technical and functional.

  • Proven track record in large-scale global SAP implementations (any SAP module/domain acceptable).

  • Prior experience in the pharma industry or closely related industries.

  • Strong understanding of SAP platform operations.

  • Well-networked within the SAP ecosystem in India, particularly Hyderabad.

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing SAP platforms end-to-end.

  • Experience from top consulting firms (e.g., IBM, Accenture) is a plus.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage conflict effectively, and drive alignment on ways of working.

  • Talent management and people leadership experience are essential.
