Director/Manager, Data Science & AI Enablement

We are seeking a Director of Data Science & AI Enablement to lead the strategy, implementation, and adoption of Artificial Intelligence across the organization. This leadership role will drive innovation and operational excellence by enabling data-driven decision-making, advancing AI capabilities, and delivering hyper-personalized financial services for customers.

The Director will oversee the AI strategy across four key pillars:

• AI for Everyone: Improving employee productivity through AI tools

• AI for Citizen Innovators: Enabling teams to build custom automations

• AI for Builders: Accelerating engineering through AI-powered development

• AI for Customers: Delivering AI-powered products and personalized customer experiences

This role leads the Data Science & AI Enablement team, manages the AI model lifecycle, and partners with business and technology leaders to embed AI capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute the enterprise AI strategy aligned with organizational goals.

• Lead the Data Science & AI Enablement team, ensuring operational reliability of deployed AI and LLM models.

• Direct the full AI/ML lifecycle including model selection, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG design, benchmarking, and evaluation.

• Establish and lead the AI Center of Excellence (COE) and AI governance frameworks.

• Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Technology leadership to ensure compliance, security, and scalability of AI systems.

AI Innovation & Business Impact

• Identify and deliver AI opportunities across business units to improve productivity, operations, and customer experience.

• Collaborate with product teams to develop AI-driven products and insights.

• Build advanced machine learning models leveraging large datasets (transactional, marketing, and behavioral data).

• Translate complex analytical insights into business strategies and measurable outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with engineering teams to productionize machine learning solutions.

• Partner with stakeholders across product, marketing, operations, customer support, and technology to solve business challenges with AI.

• Promote a data-driven culture through internal training, workshops, and thought leadership.

People Leadership

• Lead and mentor a high-performing data science and AI team.

• Align team goals with organizational strategy and forecast future resourcing needs.

• Foster professional growth and ensure knowledge sharing across teams.

• Remove operational blockers and enable teams with the tools and processes needed for success.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or related field

• Strong background in machine learning, statistics, probability, and algorithms

• Experience with Python, Scala, R, SQL and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn, or SparkML

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred, AWS, Azure)

• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or similar)

• Proven leadership experience managing data science or AI teams

• Experience in financial services, brokerage, or retail banking preferred

• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders
