Dispatch Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatch Coordinator to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient dispatching of delivery vehicles, coordinate transportation activities, and ensure seamless communication across all departments. Duties

• Manage vehicle dispatching using delivery management systems and vehicle dispatch software to assign loads efficiently.
• Coordinate with drivers and other department members via phone and internal communication channels to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and vendors through phone calls, emails, and other communication tools to provide updates and resolve issues.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate data entry for shipment details, delivery schedules, and driver efficiency logs.
• Assist the VP of Operations in ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards during all dispatch activities.
• Assisting the customer service staff with customer requests and efficient management of administrative tasks

Requirements

• Interest in transportation planning, road transportation operations, or logistics coordination.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for handling multi-line phone systems.
• Ability to analyze data using analysis skills to improve dispatch efficiency and service quality.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) for reporting and documentation purposes.
• Experience with vehicle dispatch software, fleet management tools, and logistics processes is highly desirable.

Hours

Schedule will be Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, this position requires some Saturdays to be worked on a rotational basis.
