Dispatch Manager – Richmond, VA

Richmond Express Courier Service and Warehousing is seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Dispatch Manager to join our growing transportation and logistics team in Richmond, VA.

Position Overview

This Dispatch Manager position plays a critical leadership role in overseeing daily dispatch operations, managing driver performance, and ensuring delivery timelines and service standards are met. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in logistics operations management, courier dispatch, or transportation leadership who thrive in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily fleet dispatch operations to ensure ontime delivery performance
• Track and monitor orders to meet servicelevel agreements and customer expectations
• Lead and supervise dispatch team members and drivers
• Manage dispatch scheduling, routing, and workflow optimization
• Apply critical thinking to improve efficiency and accuracy across logistics operations
• Deliver highquality, customerfocused dispatch support
• Communicate expectations clearly and enforce accountability
• Collaborate with leadership to support companywide transportation needs
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management for drivers and dispatch staff

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience
• 35 years of experience in dispatch management, logistics, or transportation operations

• Proven leadership experience in transportation or logistics environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a highvolume dispatch setting
• Strong knowledge of the Richmond, VA area
• Reliable, selfmotivated, and professional
• Ability to pass a background check and preemployment drug screening
