Role Summary
The Manager of Dispatch is responsible for overseeing all daily dispatch and logistics operations, ensuring the timely, accurate, and cost-effective last-mile delivery of e-commerce orders to customers. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to process optimization and safety in a high-volume, direct-to-consumer (DTC) fulfillment environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dispatch & Fleet Management:
- Lead Daily Operations: Supervise the entire dispatch team, ensuring all routes are planned efficiently and high-volume, small-package shipments are prepared for on-time departure.
- Routing and Scheduling: Develop, implement, and monitor optimized routing strategies to minimize fuel consumption, transit time, and labor costs, with a focus on dense urban delivery areas.
- Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of company fleet vehicles, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and drivers to meet daily demand spikes and operational needs.
- Documentation: Ensure all dispatch documentation, including manifests, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and compliance paperwork, is accurate and completed correctly.
2. Performance & Process Optimization:
- KPI Tracking: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), First-Attempt Delivery Rate, route cost per mile, dispatch accuracy, and fleet utilization.
- Problem Resolution: Act as the primary point of escalation for all dispatch and delivery issues, including delays, vehicle breakdowns, and route conflicts, implementing quick and effective solutions.
- Technology Utilization: Maximize the efficiency of dispatch software (TMS, GPS tracking, WMS integration) and recommend process improvements to enhance visibility and integrate with e-commerce fulfillment platforms.
3. Safety, Compliance, and Quality Control:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all dispatch and fleet operations strictly comply with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the final quality check of outgoing shipments to confirm correct packaging, labeling, and quantity before loading.
- Reverse Logistics: Manage the process for handling customer returns (reverse logistics), ensuring efficient scheduling and processing of returned goods from the last mile.
- Team Safety: Promote a culture of safety within the dispatch team, ensuring proper training on handling, loading procedures, and safe driving practices.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
- Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of dispatchers and other logistics staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, analyze performance, and gather operational feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of [2]+ years of progressive experience in dispatch, transportation management, or logistics, with a strong preference for experience in E-commerce, Retail, or 3PL Last-Mile operations.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team.

Pay: ₹31,247.80 - ₹35,100.22 per month
