Responsibilities

• Assist with dispatching freight and coordinating shipments using transportation management systems.
• Enter and verify data accurately into multiple systems including AS400, Fleet management software, and shipping & receiving platforms.
• Support transportation planning activities by tracking shipments via GPS and GIS tools to ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, and internal teams using multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Help monitor fleet movements and coordinate with 3PL providers to optimize logistics operations.
• Maintain organized records of shipping & receiving logs, incident reports, and inbound/outbound documentation.
• Assist with general administrative tasks related to freight management, including data analysis and reporting to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret transportation data and identify issues proactively.
• Basic understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation management systems.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with carriers and team members.
• Proficiency in typing, data entry, and using multi-line phone systems for efficient workflow management.
• Familiarity with logistics concepts such as freight handling, shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management, and supply chain fundamentals.
• Experience or coursework related to transportation planning or logistics is a plus but not required.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms.
