About the Role:

The Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating and managing the efficient movement of goods and vehicles within the manufacturing sector. This position ensures that fleet operations comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while maintaining optimal scheduling and routing to meet production and delivery deadlines. The Dispatcher acts as the communication hub between drivers, management, and clients, facilitating real-time problem solving and adjustments in a fast-paced environment. By overseeing fleet maintenance schedules and monitoring vehicle conditions, the Dispatcher helps minimize downtime and maximizes operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role is essential for sustaining seamless logistics management that supports the overall manufacturing supply chain.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in dispatching or fleet management within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in using dispatching software and communication tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Experience with advanced fleet management systems and telematics.
  • Certification in transportation or logistics management.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with peripheral vision techniques to monitor multiple information sources simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily dispatch operations by scheduling and routing vehicles to meet delivery and production timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies related to fleet management and driver safety.
  • Monitor fleet maintenance needs and coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse personnel, and management to resolve issues and provide updates.
  • Manage incoming calls and inquiries related to dispatch operations, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle usage, driver logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected challenges in a fast-paced work environment.
