Job Summary
Logansport Utilities is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to serve as a critical communication link between customers, field crews, and supervisors. This position is responsible for receiving and prioritizing incoming calls, accurately relaying information, and supporting efficient utility operations during second-shift hours. The ideal candidate remains calm under pressure, communicates clearly, and demonstrates strong situational awareness.

Working Schedule

3p-11p Tuesday thru Friday. Every other Sat & Sun 7a-7p. Mondays off.

Duties

  • Answer and manage incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Operate and monitor SCADA system
  • Receive, document, and prioritize service requests, outage reports, and emergency calls
  • Relay accurate and timely information to supervisors, on-call personnel, and field crews
  • Dispatch crews according to established procedures and supervisor direction
  • Monitor system alerts, radios, and communication channels as assigned
  • Maintain detailed and accurate dispatch logs and records
  • Provide status updates to supervisors regarding field activities and customer issues
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service concerns and basic information
  • Follow established safety, emergency response, and utility protocols
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior dispatch, call center, customer service, or utility experience preferred
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain composed in fast-paced or emergency situations
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to work the rotating schedule and second-shift hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 56 per week
