A 911 dispatcher is a professional responsible for answering emergency calls from the public and dispatching the appropriate emergency services. Their tasks include:

  • Providing emergency services to callers who dial 911.
  • Answering calls for police, fire, ambulance, etc.
  • Recording all incoming and outgoing calls.
  • Keeping track of caller’s location.
  • Ensuring that phone lines are not blocked during an emergency.
  • Giving instructions on how to handle emergencies.
  • Taking down details of incidents in case of a crime.
  • Making follow-up reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
