Dispatcher

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight and shipments, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient fleet management. Your proactive communication skills and technical expertise will help optimize transportation operations, support supply chain efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of logistics coordination, utilizing advanced systems and analysis skills to streamline dispatch processes. 3rd Shift with 12 hour shifts. Training will be 1st shift.

Duties

• Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight movement, utilizing transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to plan routes and schedules effectively
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routing, and ensure compliance with delivery timelines
• Communicate with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and customers via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette
• Enter data accurately into transportation management platforms, including shipping & receiving logs, freight details, and fleet management records
• Manage shipping schedules using AS400 systems and coordinate with 3PL providers for seamless freight handling
• Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and support logistics planning
• Oversee freight dispatching operations while maintaining clear documentation of all activities for compliance and reporting purposes

Qualifications

• Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning principles
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and efficiently
• Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating logistics data and optimizing dispatch procedures
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes, fleet management practices, and freight coordination
• Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy in systems like AS400 or similar platforms
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Knowledge of supply chain operations, logistics strategies, and 3PL partnerships is a plus
