THE JOB OF DISPATCHER INVOLVES
-
Managing and optimizing trucking schedules and communicating with drivers in a real-time environment
-
Using high-precision GPS systems to keep truck fleet moving safely on time, and on target
-
Continuously monitoring and improving technologies, productivity, and morale among a wide range of personalities
-
Managing wireless communication, vehicle cameras, and other data-gathering technologies
-
Assisting with training in the proper use of the dispatch system
-
Coordinating and communicating with other departments as necessary
THIS ONE’S FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE
-
Previous dispatch experience
-
Familiarity with the Trucking Industry and FMCSA regulations
-
Experience with fleet management systems and related technologies
-
Proficiency with radio and GPS technology
-
Excellent judgment, communication, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills
-
The ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
-
Must be able to life 25 pounds
