As a Routing & Dispatch Customer Service Representative (CSR), you will be responsible for the scheduling and dispatching of drivers, vehicles, and equipment to specified locations, based on scheduled requests and customer needs, while utilizing computer software to make the routes as efficient and productive as possible, maximizing the capabilities of our operational assets.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling drivers, vehicles and equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer request or immediate needs.
  • Communicating with and assisting drivers in order that they might be able to complete deliveries and pick up timely and efficiently.
  • Relaying information such as work orders or other message to and from drivers and other team members.
  • Effectively communicate with prospective and current customers to take orders for equipment, service requests, payments, and resolve problems, while providing the highest level of customer service, including keeping customers apprised as to the company schedule and requested lead times.
  • Preparing daily routes and schedule drivers while prioritizing and keeping updated based on changes for the drivers to be most efficient and effective in their daily routes.
  • Preparing leases and work orders for services and equipment for deliveries, pick-ups and billing.
  • Keeping and organizing customer requests, completed work paperwork, change orders, and keeping up-to-date inventory records and other information.
  • Utilize customer contact to sell additional or enhanced products, services and events across all business lines when possible.
  • Maintain customer files, accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints or comments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills including active listening.
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment while multitasking several schedules, drivers and priorities at once.
  • Ability to accurately write up or enter orders into computer software and systems.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least three years of related experience and execution of similar duties in distribution/freight operations required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to communicate in person, phone, email/written.
