Dispatcher

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics and transportation team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight, manage routing schedules, and ensure timely delivery by leveraging advanced transportation management systems and GPS technology. Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation planning.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and customers via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times.
• Enter data accurately into logistics platforms, including shipping details, dispatch records, and fleet management information on AS400 or similar systems.
• Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Oversee fleet management activities, including tracking vehicle status, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety protocols.
• Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and support strategic decision-making within the supply chain.

Skills

• Proficiency with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS tracking, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight operations, and transportation planning principles.
• Excellent analysis skills to interpret data for optimizing dispatching routes and improving overall efficiency.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with drivers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately using systems like AS400 and SyteLine while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with fleet management practices to ensure smooth logistics operations.
