- Coordinates and schedules shipments, deliveries, and pick-ups with customers and drivers
- Communicates with customers via phone, email, or messaging platforms to address service requests, complaints, and inquiries
- Monitors real-time location of drivers and vehicles to ensure timely deliveries
- Uses transportation management systems (TMS) and dispatch software to input, track, and update order statuses
- Resolves delivery delays, route changes, or service disruptions promptly
- Provides clear instructions to drivers regarding routes, schedules, and customer requirements
- Maintains accurate records of customer interactions, transport orders, and driver logs
- Assists in planning efficient routes based on traffic, weather, and delivery windows
- Ensures compliance with transportation regulations and company policies
- Coordinates with warehouse staff for loading schedules and inventory availability
- Updates customers proactively regarding delays, ETAs, or changes to their service
- Escalates complex customer issues to supervisors or relevant departments when necessary
- Works under time pressure, especially during peak hours or service disruptions
- Prioritizes service requests based on urgency, location, and resource availability
- Analyzes delivery trends and service metrics to identify recurring issues or areas for improvement
- Engages in shift handovers to ensure smooth transition and communication across teams
- Manages documentation such as bills of lading, PODs (proof of delivery), and service agreements
- Supports after-hours or emergency dispatch operations as needed
- Builds strong working relationships with internal departments like sales, operations, and fleet management
- Provides feedback from customers to improve service processes and customer satisfaction
