The Emergency Communications Center (ECC) Dispatcher position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure workplace environment through the operation of the ECC. The ECC Dispatcher will monitor alarms, CCTV and control systems, while answering emergent and non-emergent calls for service with the expectation to provide the best most efficient customer support possible, keeping in mind critical thinking and emergency prioritization of needs in a dynamic environment. The ECC Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating security and emergency responses and maintaining logs of calls for service. The Dispatcher's core role is to promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and hospital employees.

Full-time | 72-80 hours every 2 weeks | Onsite St. Cloud Hospital

Day and Evening shifts | 8 to 12-hour shifts

Pay and Benefits:

Starting pay begins at $24.21 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience

Pay range: $24.21 - $36.35 per hour

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required
-
Associate or bachelor's degree in law enforcement, Criminal Justice, Business, Psychology or Sociology preferred

1 year of emergency or high stress dispatching experience required

2 years of demonstrated ability to operate radio, telephone equipment and/or console monitors required

2 years Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment while possibly working under pressure

Prior Health Care Security/EMS Dispatch Experience preferred

Ability to recognize self and to maintain calm professionalism in stressful and emotional situations

Must be capable of prioritizing tasks and setting priorities in a fast paced, multi-faceted environment

Foundational understanding of emergency response practices and procedures

Ability to detect irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards and emergency situations

Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job

Accredited Verbal De-escalation Certification, EMR or EMT or Paramedic Medical Certification, ARMER Dispatcher Certification, APCO or Other Accredited Professional Dispatch Certification preferred.
