Position: Dispatcher/Driver Manager

Based out of Youngstown, OH

Monday-Friday

Shift 10:00AM–8:00PM

R&J Trucking is a family owned and operated asset-based carrier specializing in the transport of bulk commodities throughout the Eastern United States. R&J focuses on our outstanding CUSTOMER Service, delivered by dedicated and safe DRIVERS, utilizing well-maintained EQUIPMENT to drive our success.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all Dry Bulk Tanker freight within an assigned area. Operationally responsible to procure freight, coordinate incident free pickup/delivery, reaffirm proper paperwork submission for accurate invoicing and driver pay.

Team Members within our Operations Department:

• Communicate and coordinate directly with customers to service tendered shipments
• Assessing customer needs and timing of deliveries relative to available capacity and resources
• Point of Contact for all Drivers. Manage delivery schedule, paperwork submission, routing, Etc.
• Responsible for Driver; Compliance, Safety, Maintenance and Billing procedure reinforcements
• Ensure contamination-free delivery service through administering company dispatch procedures
• Provide frontline customer service for existing accounts
• Solicit freight from customers
• Answer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
• Monitor e-mail for incoming orders, inventory updates, and communication between team members
• Create and plan orders in planning schedules and dispatch system in coordination with team members
• Divide dispatch responsibilities with other team members
• On-call duties as needed and ability to work remotely

Requirements Potential Team Members should have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in Transportation, Bulk or Tank logistics preferred but not required
• Self-Starter mentality and ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Excellent conflict resolution skills
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
