Job Title: Distribution Manager

Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Position Overview
The Distribution Manager will serve as a key link between internal teams and external stakeholders, overseeing daily sales, warehousing, and distribution operations. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient resource utilization, regulatory compliance, and effective distribution strategies to maximize profitability and support overall business growth.
Required Experience & QualificationsExperience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Sales and Distribution
- At least 5 years in a managerial role within the FMCG sector (mandatory)
- Proven track record in driving sales operations, compliance, and accountability
- Strong experience in managing distribution networks and team performance
Education:
- Master’s degree (preferably MBA) in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and improve administrative, sales, and distribution systems
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets
- Monitor sales team performance against assigned targets
- Ensure profitability by controlling discounts, margins, and gross profit
- Improve sales force productivity and operational efficiency
- Analyze performance data and implement corrective actions as needed
- Conduct market visits and surveys to identify trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities
- Maintain and improve operational policies and procedures for smooth workflow
- Ensure strict compliance with company SOPs and operational guidelines
- Oversee uninterrupted distribution operations by ensuring availability of resources and staff
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure timely service delivery
- Coordinate daily inventory management with Store In-Charge and report discrepancies (shortage, expiry, damage)
- Manage receivables and ensure alignment with approved credit limits
- Prepare accurate periodic and ad-hoc management reports
- Monitor market conditions and provide regular updates to senior management
