The Distribution Service – Logistics Coordinator supports the daily operations of the team by analyzing inventory reports, coordinating returns, resolving invoice and receiving discrepancies, and providing exceptional customer service. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate inventory management, effective vendor communication, and timely resolution of freight and receiving issues.
Essential Functions
- Reviews incoming damage and shortages to identify packaging or handling issues, escalates concerns requiring corrective action, and monitors trends to develop and implement solutions.
- Works collaboratively with branches, vendors and freight carriers to resolve related issues, including the filing and management of freight claims.
- Reviewing inventory movement reports including batching, serial numbers, stock locations, and other inventory management reporting.
- Coordinates the return of the damaged or defective material to the carrier or vendor, as well as quarterly and annual stock returns.
- Investigates and resolves receiving discrepancies to identify and resolve variances between receiving and invoice quantities.
- Provides responsive customer service to logistics inquiries and requests coming through phone calls, e-mails, instant messages, and other forms of communication.
- Maintains strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Delivers proactive and responsive support to branch staff related to logistics-related needs.
Non-essential Functions
- Supports special project roll out, support and maintenance which includes, but is not limited to, new SAP projects, assisting other departments as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
- Associates business/trade degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and/or communications products and vendors, industry experience and market knowledge and/or comparable education or experience preferred.
- Knowledge of material movements in SAP, reviewing PO history, and reviewing material history.
- Working knowledge of PC Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) internet, email, required; and SAP software preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive and engaged.
- Possess a good understanding of all warehouse processes, including receiving, put away, bin maintenance and shipping.
- Excellent interpersonal communication (reading, writing and speaking in English) and customer service skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and use independent judgment.
