Purpose of Job:
The Distributor Systems Transformation Manager provides expert guidance on technological solutions within the wholesale distribution industry. This role will have a deep understanding of routing and point-of-sale technology trends, a knack for identifying business needs, and the ability to recommend and implement innovative technological strategies to optimize distributor operations and service performance. This role will be a project role.
Job Components:
Conduct thorough assessments of current distributor technology systems, processes, and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Engage with distributors and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and requirements related to current technology.
Provide expert advice and recommendations on retail technology solutions, including Point of Sale (POS) systems, inventory management, dynamic routing, e-commerce platforms, customer relationship management (CRM), and other distributor-specific applications.
Develop technology roadmaps and strategies aligned with business goals to enhance distributor operations, increase efficiency, and drive revenue growth.
Assist in the selection, procurement, and implementation of distributor technology solutions by evaluating vendors, conducting demonstrations, and negotiating contracts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, National Accounts, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure seamless integration and functionality of distributor technology solutions.
Create and deliver business requirement documents, reports, and documentation outlining proposed technology solutions, benefits, and implementation plans to stakeholders.
Create and execute user acceptance tests for business scenarios for various business systems solutions proposed.
Stay updated on emerging distribution technology trends, best practices, and industry standards, providing insights and recommendations for their adoption.
Offer training, guidance, and support to end-users and stakeholders on utilizing new distributor technology solutions effectively.
Provide overall management, development, direction, and evaluation of Distributor Transformation Leads for proposed implementation strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
6-8+ years of proven consultancy or advisory experience focused on retail technology solutions or a related field.
Possess additional certifications or specialized training in retail and distribution technology preferred.
Deep knowledge of retail-specific technologies including POS systems, inventory management software, dynamic routing software, E-commerce platforms, CRM systems, etc.
Strong analytical abilities to assess complex business and technology challenges.
Ability to propose innovative solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of retail technology initiatives.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects and change priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Knowledge of battery industry trends and consumer behavior.
Awareness of the impact of technology on distributor operations.
Possess a customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering solutions that enhance the distributor experience for both businesses and customers.
