About the Role:

Burwell Material Handling, LLC is seeking a District Human Resources Manager to support our three branches in Iowa (Hiawatha, Waterloo, and Bettendorf) and one branch in South Dakota (Sioux Falls). This role serves as the primary HR resource, overseeing onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance. Responsibilities include coaching managers, driving engagement, supporting recruiting efforts, and facilitating recognition programs. Travel is required at least 30% of the time based on branch needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers across assigned branches.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for all new hires, including on-site visits during their first week.
  • Assist with benefits administration and serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Provide accurate, timely HR guidance on policies, systems, and compliance matters.
  • Partner with regional leadership to drive employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees to resolve workplace concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws to mitigate risks.
  • Organize and facilitate employee recognition programs.
  • Support recruiting efforts in collaboration with the branches and the Recruiter.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 2-4 years of HR management experience required, with a focus on employee relations preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time to branches within the assigned region.
  • Physical capability to perform job functions, including lifting, carrying, and reaching.
