Responsibilities - What you’ll do

This is a Central Office position but domicile location can be based out of any facility.

  • The Quality Assurance Manager will report directly to the Assistant Division Director of Program Services. This position will assist senior leadership within the Division of Adult Institutions with project management, which may include chairing strategic initiative level committees; establish and maintain effective quality assurance practices; and provide divisional process oversight and reports to executive leadership that enables DAI to monitor, correct, and redirect in a manner that fosters continual performance improvement.
  • The Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with all of the Missouri Department of Corrections divisional executive staff and the Office of Research, Evaluation, Planning, and Process Improvement to analyze data and recommend plans to improve divisional operations, and will ensure the principles of Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) are implemented effectively and consistently within the Division's daily business practices by developing action plans to remedy deficiencies.
  • This position will manage the Quality Control (QC) Coordinators and Quality Control activities in support of expectations for divisional operations and verify adherence to divisional processes. QC Coordinators also identify areas of policy, procedure, or practice that require greater clarification and provide and/or coordinate training and technical assistance when areas of need are identified.
  • Competencies of this position are basic knowledge of quality improvement strategies, independent decision making, project management, data analysis/analytical thinking, public speaking, group facilitation, attention to detail, strong communication skills both oral and written, process development, and organization.
Qualifications - All you need for success

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Two or more years as a Functional Unit Manager or other similar experience.

Candidates should possess knowledge of systems, tools, procedures, statutes, and operational practices associated with incarcerated residents, as well as knowledge of correctional Evidence-Based Practices (EBP). Ability to train, facilitate, implement and lead groups of people in a training environment, including but not limited to: offender risk and need assessments, case management practices, cognitive and cognitive behavioral programming, and a working knowledge of the Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS) and case planning tools. The ability to effectively develop and lead special projects and assignments, both individually and in group/committee setting, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within Departmental officials, institutional staff, and public entities.

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:

  • A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
  • A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
  • A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.

The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
