About the Role: To advise and assist functional managers within manufacturing to effectively manage on all aspects of health and safety by providing assistance to carry out risk assessments, Accident investigations in accordance with the procedures established by Group Safety and Risk manager and provide counselling to employees to adhere to best practices with a view to reducing the risk to health and safety of employees and others.



  1. Act as a coach and mentor, championing the highest standard of health and safety at all the times and working to develop competence and enthusiasm among employees.
  2. Review the adequacy and suitability of risk assessment with a view to recommending improvements in protective measures and system of work.
  3. Review the adequacy and suitability of Accidents reports with a view to recommending improvements quality of investigations and thereby improving protective measures and system of work.
  4. Collect and study accident records with a view to identify trends and common causes with a view to prioritizing health and safety effort.
  5. Work with training function to develop health and safety training courses and where necessary to assist with their delivery.



Requirements:

  • Must be holding bachelor’s degree.
  • Qualified in Health and Safety to NEBOSH certificate.
  • 4+ years experience of a similar health and safety role within a manufacturing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication English skills.
  • Able to lead and command multitask work groups on health and safety aspects.
  • Handling emergency situations & - Able to manage national employees.
  • Must have competencies such as: Good understanding on Electrical & Mechanical maintenance aspects. good knowledge in Industrial Forklift trucks and load moving equipments, good knowledge in handling hazardous substance, Proficient in writing technical reports.
