Position Summary

At Mcfly Robot , Turkey’s first domestic robot manufacturer, we are looking for a specialized mechanical engineer to design and develop the precision gear and reducer systems that form the heart of our industrial robots.

This position reports directly to the Design Director and works closely with our mechanical R&D team to create high-precision, low-backlash transmission systems for robotic applications.

Success in this role means more than just calculating gears — it’s about understanding manufacturability, durability, vibration, backlash, surface quality, and assembly tolerances together as one integrated system.

You’ll thrive if you can transform theory into practice, interpret simulation data, and collaborate closely with the production and quality teams to turn designs into real, working products.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of Planetary, Harmonic and Cycloidal gear systems for robot joints
• Optimization of geometry, module, helix angle, and profile modifications for performance and efficiency
• Perform gear strength and lifetime calculations according to AGMA / ISO standards
• Prepare 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings with detailed tolerance analyses
• Evaluate prototype and test results to improve design performance
• Collaborate with production, quality, and purchasing teams to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency
• Conduct and interpret mechanical simulations (Ansys or equivalent) for verification and validation

🎓 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in gear, reducer, or power transmission system design
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Practical knowledge of AGMA / DIN / ISO gear design standards
• Familiar with FEM analysis and mechanical simulation tools
• Understanding of manufacturing methods (CNC machining, grinding, heat treatment)
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
• Good command of technical English (reading and writing)
