QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description
-
The Civil & Structural Design Engineer is responsible for performing and reviewing analysis and complete design calculations using the latest codes; prepare and manage the production of construction drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations. Client interaction and communication on projects will be expected.

Creating structural engineering plans, details and calculations for Utility and Commercial scale solar projects in various regions with high wind, seismic and snow loads.

Designing foundations for project equipment to meet jurisdictional requirements at local, State and Federal levels for various geotechnical parameters and soil types.

Leading any site test (for instance Pull Out Test) and ensure that it is carried out according to relevant standards and client’s requirements and expectations.

Reviewing and responding to project construction administration items including Requests for Information (RFI), shop drawings, and submittals.

Reviewing the designs of the EPCs to confirm compliance with the project requirements and code.
-
Review and interpret site survey reports, such as geotechnical reports.
-
Prepare in-house drawings which include all necessary technical specifications.

Reading and understanding existing and proposed structural, architectural and civil drawings.
-
Provide preliminary designs for feasibility study for special constructions/substructure.
-
Compare and assess different methods/testing procedures for soil testing.

Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and apply soil mechanics principles to foundation design & structural design.
-
Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects.

Coordination with clients on their expectations.

Gaining deep knowledge of PV system components such as modules, racking, inverters and Balance of Systems (BOS).
-
Ability to work with and be supported by other engineers for guidance.

Technical support to business development or sales team for tender, bidding or after sales technical support.

Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.

Perform additional duties as assigned and/or directed.

Design drainage systems, including ditches, culverts, and retention ponds, to manage rainwater and prevent water accumulation around equipment and structures.

Develop erosion and sediment control plans to minimize environmental impact during construction.

Conduct site visits during construction to monitor civil and structural works, ensuring adherence to design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
-
Address any site-related structural issues or design modifications that may arise during construction, providing timely solutions and clarifications.
-
Perform inspections and quality checks on foundations, structural elements, and civil works to verify compliance and identify any defects.

Coordination of external structural companies/engineers

Act as a single point of contact / direct interface

Preparation & communication of scope of work for external structural companies/engineers

Evaluation of proposals from external structural companies/engineers (tender phase)

Preliminary structural analysis for feasibility study for special constructions/substructures

Evaluation and optimization of substructure designs received from external companies

Evaluation and optimization of determination of embedding pile length

Dimensioning of reinforced concrete foundations

Developing detailed layouts and civil design packages that meet all contractual, code, and permitting requirements

Assessment of load assumptions/combinations for specific locations

Assessment of structural calculation of precast / in-situ concrete foundations for transformer / collector stations

Conducting on-site solar PV Parks site visit, commissioning and troubleshooting
Qualifications
-
Experienced in concrete & steel structure design (both foundation and superstructure design)
-
Well experienced on international well-known design standards (American codes and Euronorms and knowledge of AS/NZS norms is a plus)

Experience in designing Structural Design Part of PV projects in large scale

Well experienced on Autocad 2D & Revit usage

Well experienced on Tekla usage
-
Well experienced in SAP2000, ETABS and Idea-statica
-
Well experienced in structural design calculations & reporting & giving necessary design outputs for formwork & rebar detailing works

Be familiar to work in multi-discipline projects

Having planning & organization & multitask skills, reporting,
