Job Purpose
To support dock and marine operations by assisting in vessel handling, cargo movement, and maintaining safety and cleanliness of the dock area.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in mooring and unmooring vessels safely.
- Support loading and unloading of cargo, materials, and equipment.
- Handle ropes, lines, fenders, and docking equipment properly.
- Ensure dock area is clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Follow instructions from Dock Supervisor or Lead Dock Attendant.
- Guide vessels during berthing procedures as directed.
- Monitor dock conditions and report damages or safety concerns.
- Assist crane operators and logistics teams during cargo operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Support emergency response procedures when required.
Qualifications
- High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Basic marine or port operations training is an advantage.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certification preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in dock, port, marine, or logistics operations.
- GCC / Qatar marine experience preferred.
- Experience handling marine ropes and cargo operations is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of dock safety and marine operations.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow safety instructions and procedures.
