Our firm is currently looking for a professional Document Control Specialist based in Torrance, CA. The Document Control Specialist will operate in a team environment to support document controls within a large public works construction program of a public healthcare facility. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring your specialized Document Control expertise to an industry leading team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist project managers in the preparation of change orders, notices to proceed, requests for quotation, and other general correspondence.
  • Assist project manager in the processing of payment requests, change orders, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Assist project manager with meeting minutes, project status update entries, and payment, change order, RFI, and submittal logs.
  • Establish and maintain a project document filing system in accordance with established client procedures.
  • Prepare reports in accordance with established client procedures and forms.
  • Manage all documents for all projects in the project management system running parallel to client's document control software.
  • Enter and track Submittals, RFI's, pending change order, change orders, and invoices that were reviewed and/or prepared by Cost Control Manager and Project Managers.
  • Document Controller maintains all logs.
  • Establish and maintain hard file systems.
  • This position can work on a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. The position allows for work from home one day per week. All other days of the week, the position is expected to report to the field office trailers at the project site in Torrance, CA.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Experience with scanning and converting documents to various specified file formats.
  • Knowledge of proper security and preservation of controlled data, documents & records.
  • Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience providing document control services in the construction field. Must be proficient in using MS Office software. Knowledge of Expedition/CM13, e-Builder, and other similar PMIS systems.

The salary range for this full-time role is $57,400.00-$72,733.34 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
