Document Control Specialist at atNorth
The Document Control Specialist ensures the integrity, accuracy, accessibility, and lifecycle management of quality-related documentation and records within atNorth’s Integrated Management System (IMS). This role is essential for maintaining atNorth’s ISO 9001 certification and supporting other management system standards, including ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and ISO 45001. In addition, the position contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, document control governance, and coordination of quality-related projects.
The Document Control Specialist works closely with the Quality Manager and provides guidance and support to the Sustainability and Compliance Department, as well as other teams, on quality assurance and document control practices.
In this role, you can be based in any of the following locations: Akureyri, Keflavík, or Reykjavík in Iceland; Copenhagen in Denmark; Espoo in Finland; or Stockholm in Sweden
Key responsibilities:
Documentation Management
Maintain controlled documents and records within the IMS and internal documentation platform (Confluence).
Ensure proper version control, accessibility, retention, and secure disposal in line with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Assist document and process owners in drafting, reviewing, approving, and updating policies, processes, and procedures.
Act as the Confluence super user, ensuring a consistent structure for quality-related documents.
Support
Assist the Quality Manager in improving and streamlining the IMS.
Promote consistency, standardization, and alignment of documentation across atNorth.
Support process owners and managers with compliance documentation.
Project Management
Contribute to quality and compliance improvement projects across the organization.
Track project status, maintain documentation, and provide reporting.
Training and Awareness
Coordinate and support training sessions on document control, IMS processes, and quality awareness.
Your profile:
5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally in quality management, compliance, or project management.
Solid knowledge of ISO standards, especially ISO 9001.
Experience with Confluence or similar documentation management systems.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Broad understanding of quality management, with specific expertise in document control.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communicator, able to engage with colleagues across departments.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
