Job Purpose:
To manage, control, and maintain all QA/QC documentation related to steel structure
and piping fabrication projects, ensuring proper documentation flow, traceability, and
compliance with client and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and control all quality-related documents including inspection reports, welding documents (WPS, PQR, WQT), material certificates, and calibration records.
- Ensure that all QA/QC documentation is properly indexed, filed, and retrievable at any time for internal/external audits.
- Assist Lead QA/QC Engineer and QC Inspectors in compiling project-specific QA/QC RFIs, dossiers and handover packages.
- Coordinate the submission and approval process of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Control Procedures, NCRs, RFI Logs, and other quality documents.
- Track the status of documents submitted to the client or third-party inspectors (TPI).
- Control document revision history and ensure only approved and latest revisions are used in the fabrication shop.
- Liaise with project, production, and QA/QC teams to ensure timely document flow and support.
- Support the preparation of final documentation/dossiers for project completion and client handover.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and project-specific quality requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in a QA/QC documentation role, preferably in steel fabrication or piping industries.
- Familiarity with fabrication shop documentation and quality systems.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), PDF editing tools, and document control software.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, welding documentation, and QA/QC procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
