Job Description:

Receives and sorts incoming mail daily, ensuring all correspondence is routed appropriately. Prepares batch bills for mailing to Insurance Payors by matching with primary payor EOBs, medical records, and other required documents. Enters data to track batch bills sent by certified mail. Scans documents to appropriate patient accounts, meeting or exceeding Department standards for productivity and accuracy. Attaches electronic legible images of supporting documentation from scanned images. Scans checks, lockbox deposits, and electronic remittances within accuracy and timeliness standards. Reviews and codes correspondence within specified time frame, identifying payor and patient account numbers for proper identification. Adheres to HIPAA regulations by verifying pertinent information to determine caller authorization level for receiving information on accounts. Collaborates with team members to ensure efficient document management processes. Provides outstanding customer service in all interactions. Other duties as assigned. Retrieves and delivers mail and other documents used by Patient Financial Services. Performs courier functions as scheduled or requested, ensuring timely and efficient routing of correspondence.

  • Call Center experience a MUST!
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to use discretion when discussing personnel/patient related issues that are confidential in nature. [Required]
  • Ability to be responsive to ever-changing matrix of hospital needs and act accordingly. [Required]
  • Typing skills equal to 20 words per minute net. [Required]
  • Self-motivator, quick thinker. [Required]
  • Proficiency in performance of basic math functions. [Required]
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
