About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Documentation Expert to join our Customs Broker/Customs House Agent (CHA) operations in Chennai. This role requires prior hands-on experience in customs clearance documentation, transporter coordination, and compliance processes. Freshers will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, verify, and file Bills of Entry (B.E.) and related customs documentation through ICEGATE.
- Draft and manage shipping bills, invoices, packing lists, delivery challans, and other statutory documents.
- Maintain accurate records of all import/export documentation.
- Coordinate with transporters, CFS, and internal teams to ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Apply for and manage e-Way Bills and ensure GST compliance.
- File and archive documents systematically (physical & digital).
- Track shipments and monitor clearance status to avoid delays.
- Support accounts with duty payment documentation and billing support.
- Assist in audits and compliance checks.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in documentation proactively.
Qualifications & Skills
- Mandatory: Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in documentation under a Customs Broker/CHA setup.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, ICEGATE portal, GST, and e-Way Bill processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
