Dog Daycare Dog Walker/Attendant

Duties

  • Supervise and safely manage groups of dogs of various sizes and temperaments
  • Monitor dog behavior and intervene when necessary to maintain a safe environment
  • Walk dogs individually or in small groups
  • Ensure dogs are safely leashed and under control at all times
  • Clean up waste during walks and throughout the facility
  • Follow feeding schedules and basic care instructions for each dog
  • Maintain cleanliness of play areas, kennels, and common spaces
  • Clean up urine, feces, and other messes promptly
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including mopping, disinfecting, and laundry
  • Monitor dogs for signs of illness, stress, or aggression
  • Separate dogs when needed to ensure safety
  • Report any incidents or concerns to management immediately
  • Communicate professionally with team members and pet owners as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience working with dogs or animals strongly preferred (daycare, shelter, vet, or personal experience)
  • Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
  • Must be confident working with multiple dogs in a group setting
  • Ability to stay calm and in control in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong awareness of dog behavior and body language (or willingness to learn)
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible
  • Physically able to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods
  • Able to lift 40–50 lbs
  • Comfortable performing cleaning tasks throughout the shift
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Previous dog handling or group play experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with reactive or high-energy dogs is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of dog behavior and safety practices
  • Must be comfortable correcting dog behavior and maintaining structure in a group setting
