Dog Walker

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Dog Walker to join our pet care team. This role involves providing exceptional walking and care services for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being during walks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent handling skills, and the ability to manage multiple pets in a professional manner. Experience with animal handling, pet sitting, and pet grooming is highly valued. Responsibilities

• Safely walk dogs according to scheduled appointments, ensuring proper leash handling and control
• Monitor dogs during walks for signs of distress or discomfort and respond appropriately
• Provide basic training reinforcement during walks if applicable
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets before and after walks
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ behavior or any concerns
• Assist with pet care routines such as feeding, administering medication, or grooming as needed
• Restrain animals safely using appropriate techniques when necessary
• Handle multiple dogs simultaneously while ensuring each pet’s safety and comfort
• Perform light cleaning duties related to pet care equipment and supplies

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care preferred
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus
• Familiarity with animal restraint and pet grooming techniques
• Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, including heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Experience with veterinary technician or assistant roles, kennel experience, or equine experience is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members
• Reliable transportation to travel between client locations as needed

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
