As a Dog Walker at Camille's Critter Care, you will be responsible for providing loving and attentive care to dogs during their walks. This role is essential in promoting the well-being of our furry clients while supporting our mission of delivering outstanding pet care services. Our clients enjoy feedback and photos of their pets while we are caring for them and they are not only our clients but our friends and family.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs on scheduled routes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Provide companionship and exercise to dogs during walks, catering to their individual needs.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and health during walks. Noting any unusual signs or change in habits that the dog may display while in our care.
• Maintain accurate records of each dog's walking schedule and any relevant notes by texting after each visit
• Ensure all dogs are leashed securely and follow safety protocols during outings.
• Administer basic commands or training techniques as needed during walks, following the owners directions and being consistent with their training.
• Report any concerns regarding the dogs' health or behavior to the owner promptly

• REQUIREMENTS
• LIVING ON DANIEL ISLAND OR WITHIN 5 MINUTES IS A PLUS GIVEN THE FLUCTUATING SCHEDULE
• Must enjoy being outside, walking, smiling, laughing, and spending time with loving animals in one of the most beautiful areas of Charleston. All work is on Daniel Island
• THIS IS A GREAT POSITION FOR SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME
• This is a part-time position with hours and days that fluctuate based on client needs. This would be a great position for additional income
• THE CURRENT SCHEDULE NEEDS ARE SOME NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND 1 - 3 DAYS PER WEEK.
• Available weekdays (1 - 3 days) from 10am-2pm (days and hours vary based on business levels/client requests)
• Morning (Breakfast 7-9), Midday (10-2), evening (Dinner 4:30-6) and bedtime (8:30 - 10) visit shifts are also needed - You will not be scheduled for all of these shifts
• Flexible schedule
• All appointments are on Daniel Island - MUST LIVE ON OR EVERY NEAR DANIEL ISLAND
• A passion for pets
• Dependable, organized, and punctual
• At least 18 years of age
• Reliable transportation with a valid SC license and insurance
• Excellent communication skills and a smart phone
• Willing to care for a variety of animals, large and small, including Dogs, Cats, Birds, Exotics (schedules are based on your comfort level with the pets)
• Experience with animal care is a plus
• Willing to work in all weather conditions
• Willing to undergo a background check
• Availability for rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
• Experience with administering medications (oral and injections) a plus, but will train
• This IS NOT an entry-level position. This involves caring for our client's four-legged family members who are very important and are loved like their children. We also care for their homes and various other important items while they are away. This position and its responsibilities are taken very seriously. Please keep this in mind when applying

Duties

• Take dogs on engaging walks tailored to their energy levels and needs, ensuring safe handling at all times
• Provide attentive pet sitting services including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining routines
• Monitor pets’ behavior and health during visits, recognizing signs of distress or illness and reporting concerns promptly
• Perform animal handling tasks such as grooming, restraint, and basic training to promote good behavior
• Maintain cleanliness of pet areas, bedding, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment
• Communicate effectively with pet business owner regarding pets’ activities, behaviors, and any health issues observed
