Job Summary:

Are you a responsible, animal-loving person—especially a cat lover? We are hiring immediately for a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, with 90% of the role focused on cat care and occasional dog walking or small pet care.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys quiet, independent work and building bonds with animals.

Schedule Requirements:

• Must be available at least 3 consecutive days per week (consistent, ongoing schedule required)
• Typical schedules range from 3–5 days per week (no employee works all 7 days)
• Shifts: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
• Evening shift typically runs from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM
• Weekend availability is a plus

Holiday Availability (Required):

Availability during major holidays is mandatory. You must be available to work:

• Thanksgiving week (especially Thanksgiving weekend)
• Christmas week (including Christmas Eve & Christmas Day)
• New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day

You will not be scheduled all day and will still have time with family.

Holiday Pay Includes:

• Time-and-a-half pay (Includes all major holidays)
• Plus generous client tips

Key Responsibilities:

• Visit client homes to care primarily for cats, as well as dogs and small pets
• Feed pets, administer medication if needed, and refresh water
• Clean litter boxes and provide enrichment/playtime
• Walk dogs safely and responsibly when required
• Follow detailed care instructions for each pet
• Ensure homes are secure and pets are safe at all times
• Communicate updates to clients and team (notes, photos, messages)
• Maintain reliable scheduling and punctuality for all visits
• Provide first-class customer service with a personal touch

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience with pet sitting and/or dog walking
• Strong understanding of cat and dog behavior
• Comfortable working independently
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Basic computer skills (email, Google Docs, apps)
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be dependable, trustworthy, and self-motivated
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior professional pet care experience
• Access to a laptop or home computer
• Familiarity with digital scheduling/reporting tools

What We Offer:

• $19.00 – $19.50 per hour (before client gratuity)
• 100% of client gratuity
• Mileage reimbursement at 72.5 cents per mile
