Dog Walker and Pet Sitter

Job Summary
Join our vibrant team as a Dog Walker and Pet Sitter, where your passion for animals and energetic personality will shine! In this role, you’ll provide exceptional care and companionship to a variety pets, ensuring their happiness, safety, and well-being. You will be the trusted caregiver for pets while their owners are away. You will be responsible for walking dogs, feeding pets, administering medications, and offering comfort and enrichment. Responsibilities

• Walk dogs of all sizes and temperaments in a safe, controlled manner, ensuring they get proper exercise and mental stimulation
• Provide pet sitting services that include feeding, administering medications, and cleaning up after pets
• Monitor pet behavior and health during visits, alerting owners or veterinary professionals if needed
• Maintain detailed records of pet care activities, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and behavioral observations
• Communicate regularly with pet owners regarding their pets’ health, behavior, and any concerns that arise during visits
• Attend initial consultations with clients to obtain business. At these meetings we find out the needs of the client and visits are set up according to the time and services required. These are not paid
• Must do visits during the time clients indicate. Typical time frames for clients with dogs are 7-9am, middle of the day and 7-9pm
• Must have a smartphone and be comfortable with technology as will need access to our booking app and will need to check in/out of visits and sent visit reports at each visit
• Must have own, reliable and insured vehicle. Must have a clean driving record, this is a job where driving is required.
• Must obtain your own liability insurance (we will show you how)
• Must be able to work major holidays and weekends. We mostly cater to people on vacation. This is NOT a M-F 9-5 job.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dog handling, pet sitting or animal care roles; veterinary technician or assistant experience is highly valued
• Must have experience providing oral medication to both dogs and cats
• Knowledge of animal handling techniques and animal restraint methods to ensure safety during all interactions
• Ability to lift heavy objects such as bags of pet food or litter safely and efficiently
• Ability to get down on the floor to play with pets as well as ability/mobility to walk long distances with dogs
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
• Experience working with animals in veterinary or kennel environment is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple pets simultaneously while maintaining professionalism and compassion
