If you like to say when you can't work and how much you want to work, enjoy driving, meeting and making a difference in the lives of people and all kinds of pets, this could be the right association for you! Offerings are primarily in the areas of Short Pump, Tuckahoe, and surrounding areas.

Opportunities vary and are changing continually, in three basic categories:

1. Recurring dog walking at different times of day

2. Vacation and Travel visits to feed, play, walk and love pets, at varying times during the day

3. Overnight House sitting for out-of-towners

Depending on schedule requests, expect to start as a backup to other sitters and grow into a busy schedule of your own. Availability for more than one shift and adaptability to varying schedules will facilitate more visits in total. On average, once you get established, schedules can range from 2-6 visits a day; with potential for up to 8 on holidays. Times and daily schedules vary depending on client schedules, needs and requests. Weekends and holiday availability is required.

Holidays include bonuses. Tips are not guaranteed or required, but providing repeated and exceptional service gets recognized!

This contracted position is great for you if you are:

1. A self employed person who is all about animals and their wellbeing, is self disciplined, motivated, and a problem solver who is passionate about what they do.

2. Reliable, responsible and experienced in customer service and care of dogs and cats. Is able to take charge and is not uncomfortable with big dogs or hissing cats!

3. Looking for supplemental income. Income is totally dependent on the number of visits requested, scheduled and completed.

4. Comfortable with a changing schedule and varied hours per week.

5. Consistently available for specific time frames (7-11am, 10-3pm, 1-6pm, 5-9pm, Overnights 9pm-7am), or consistently available for a varied schedule.

6. Available for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. This is a requirement.

7. Reliable transportation and a backup in case of car troubles-this is required to care for pets in their homes (You might be able to get credit for mileage on your income taxes!), and visits cannot be missed.

8. Is interested in the ability to earn incentives for bringing on new clients and sitters.

9. Live in or adjacent to zip codes 23229, 23238, 23294 or willing to drive to those zip codes.

10. Interested in options for tax deductions.

11. 18 years of age or older
